1. Service description
RoastMyCV provides AI-assisted CV analysis for informational and educational purposes only. Results do not constitute professional career or recruitment advice. We make no guarantees regarding hiring outcomes.
2. User responsibilities
By submitting a CV you confirm: (a) it is your own or you have explicit permission from the subject; (b) it contains no sensitive third-party personal data beyond your own; (c) you are at least 16 years of age; (d) you accept that results are AI-generated and may contain errors or inaccuracies.
3. Security
We implement technical safeguards including input sanitisation, rate limiting, HTTPS encryption, and content security policies. CV text is transmitted securely and processed in memory only — it is not written to persistent storage at any point.
4. Rate limiting & fair use
Free analyses are limited to 3 per session per hour to prevent abuse and ensure service availability. Automated submissions, scraping, or any attempt to circumvent rate limits is prohibited and may result in permanent blocking.
5. Payments
Full report access is charged at €5 per analysis, processed by a regulated third-party payment provider. All payments are final once the analysis is delivered. If you experience a technical failure before receiving results, contact us within 24 hours.
6. Intellectual property
Analysis output is generated for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute results without written consent.
7. Limitation of liability
RoastMyCV is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for hiring outcomes, missed opportunities, or any direct or indirect damages arising from use of this service. Our maximum liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount paid for the relevant analysis.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain.
9. Updates
We may update these terms at any time with reasonable notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Privacy Policy
Data controller
RoastMyCV is operated by an individual based in Spain. For any privacy-related enquiry: hello [at] roastmycv.com. We respond within 72 hours.
What data we process
CV text: transmitted to our AI analysis infrastructure solely to generate your feedback. Not stored, not logged, not retained after the session ends.
IP address: used for rate limiting only. Held in session memory and not written to persistent storage.
Payment data: handled entirely by our payment processor. We never see, store, or have access to card numbers or banking details.
Email address: collected only if you voluntarily contact us for support.
What we do not do
We do not store your CV text. We do not log or analyse CV content beyond generating your analysis. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing. We do not use submitted CVs for any purpose other than generating the analysis you requested.
Third-party infrastructure
We use sub-processors to deliver this service. Your CV text is transmitted to a certified AI infrastructure provider solely to generate your analysis. That provider operates under a data processing agreement, applies enterprise-grade security controls, and is contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than fulfilling the request. Payments are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor — we never see or handle card details. No sub-processor receives more data than is strictly necessary for their specific function. Legal basis (GDPR)
Processing is based on your explicit consent provided at the point of submission (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where you purchase a report, on the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access personal data we hold about you; request rectification or erasure; withdraw consent at any time; object to processing; lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) at aepd.es.
Data retention
CV text: not retained beyond the session. IP addresses: cleared at session end. Payment transaction records: retained as required by Spanish fiscal law (up to 5 years).
International transfers
Processing may involve transmission of data outside the EEA. Where this occurs, it is subject to appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent) in accordance with GDPR Chapter V.
Changes to this policy
